The Blue Fin is built for offshore divers. With 300 gallons of fuel capacity her range is over 420 miles at 22 knots curse. Top speed 26 knots. The boat is 26 feet long and 8 feet wide. With two recent marine surveys at $75,000, financing this boat should be a snap!

Blue fin history:
Wilson of Santa Barbara built the Blue Fin to my specifications in 1983. On our first trip to Cortez, Jim Mabry and I shot 6 bluefin tuna. One 70-pounds, the other 98 pounds, which still stands as a state record. The Boat has been to offshore banks and islands every year since.
My first engine a Mercruiser engine ate out an exhaust manifold on my first trip to Thetis Banks off Magdalena Bay, Mexico. I had volvo-certified mechanic Harry Ingram install two Volvo Penta diesels with duo-props (two counter-rotating), each engine is rated at 165 horsepower. He has meticulously maintained these engines ever since.

For the last 14 years, the Blue Fin has been stored under this lean-to. The large anchor locker easily accommodates two large anchors and 300 feet of 7/8-inch rope and chain.

The starboard engine drives the Tecumpse refrigeration compressor. The port engine drives the power steering. Together they generate 330 diesel hp to drive the volvo duo-props.

The Blue Fin comes with a spare set of four props. The fold-down swim step is ideal for divers to roll into or out of the water. Storage compartments work well for weight belts and masks.

Instruments include a dual-frequency fish finder, lighted compass, complete engine instrument package including turbo meters and pyrometers, which are essential for engine health and endurance. An Icom radio, water temp. gage, refrigerator indicator light, autopilot, GPS and Radar round out the instruments. This view of the cockpit shows the instruments and door opening to the "coffin bunk" below.

The view on the left shows the door leading into the bunk. There are four large storage compartments for all your gear. Normally covered with foam mattresses, this bunk is the size of a king bed. The black object in the background is the fluxgate compass used by the autopilot.

Price $39,000 (two independent surveys done within the last year both place the insured value of the boat at $75,000)
